About Tess![]() Originally from Boston, Tess discovered a love for performing as a small child dancing around her living room to En Vogue. Since then, she's expanded her interests to musical theater, Shakespeare, devised works, and modern dance.
Tess is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut where she completed triple majors in Dance, English, and Theater. She was awarded High Honors in Dance for her full year undergraduate research thesis (you can watch the choreography here and read the written component here). In addition to her training at Wesleyan, she has studied at DeSales University's Summer Theater Institute, CAP21, Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College, and BADA and Yale School of Drama's Midsummer in Oxford Program. She has worked professionally at regional theaters throughout the eastern US, produced her solo-show ANYTHING BUT QUIET: The Lit(erary) Women of Musical Theatre twice at 54 Below, and originated the role of "Duchess" in the First National Tour of Noël: The Musical. In May 2019, she produced her second solo-show, DIDN'T FALL FAR: Songs My Parents Taught Me at The Green Room 42. Most recently, she returned to The Green Room 42 with Frankie Gonzalez for MILD BREAKTHROUGHS, a concert of singing and assessing what it's like to be an artist during the continuing pandemic. Outside of performing, she's super active. She holds a 500-hour yoga teaching certification (to learn more about taking class with her, click here). She also enjoys boxing, skiing, and HIIT, and she really loves to handstand. Her favorite sport is soccer, which she played for 15 years, and her favorite animals are crocodiles and alligators. She loves to read, write essays, and cook, considering herself an amateur connoisseur of nut butters, condiments, and non-dairy milk options. She is a Libra, Leo rising, Pisces moon, and loves a good astrology meme. Perhaps most importantly, she is a HUGE fan of RuPaul's Drag Race. Instagram is her social media of choice...
